Ray Lemmens
Ray Lemmens is een Belgische danser, performer en maker. Zijn artistieke traject begon aan De!Kunsthumaniora in Antwerpen, waar hij afstudeerde in theater, en kreeg verder vorm binnen de hedendaagse dansopleiding aan Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg (Dance Arts in Context).
Sinds 2019 is Ray actief als performer en werkte hij samen met diverse kunstenaars en gezelschappen. Parallel aan zijn werk als danser ontwikkelt hij een eigen makerschap, met creaties die internationaal werden gepresenteerd, waaronder zijn solo Love Me Tender en het onderzoeksproject Hold Me.
In het seizoen 2024–2025 liep hij stage bij Poetic Disasters Club (Club Guy & Roni), waar hij tourde en meewerkte aan verschillende artistieke projecten. Ray richt zich op een praktijk waarin performance, creatie en samenwerking centraal staan.

Lingering past the threshold
As reality takes its distance, I sense small flickering shifts
The wooden walls swear their innocence too quickly,
they are lying straight to my face
I find myself shattered on the floor like glass
Whilst sweeping up my dignity, I am trying to locate where I lost my sense of reality
Are you even reality?
I tremble
Cola or wine?
I swallow myself whole and spit it out into the unknown
I want to get up close to reality,
saying it has lost its shape
