PERFORMANCE

40 MIN

Skin on Steel

There’s always this moment, before anything really begins, when the body convenes its own parliament.

The lungs vote for stillness.

The spine votes for exit.

The heart abstains, pulsing in protest.

The skin raises quiet objections.

The blood translates everything into heat.

It isn’t fear.
It’s a kind of diplomacy, a slow rewriting of the treaty between self and exposure. The air thickens with negotiation.

This is what resilience feels like:
not triumph, not calm, but the body redrafting its alliances in real time.
A quiet vote to remain.

Skin on Steel traces the fragile and powerful edges of what it means to endure.

At its heart: a body divided into visible worlds. Head and body, thought and pulse, command and surrender. What begins as structure becomes ritual; what appears as obstacle becomes passage.

This is a performance caught between the face we show and the fight we carry, between standing still and falling apart, between what resilience is supposed to look like and what it actually feels like to stay. Metal. Fabric. Voice. A frame that holds and releases. Two surfaces learning they need each other.

Skin on Steel doesn't resolve the split between strength and struggle. It asks: what if that gap is how we actually survive?

A luminous, absurd reckoning with staying alive.
